KEVIN HARVICK, NO. 29 GM GOODWRENCH CHEVROLET MONTE CARLO

Q. HAS YOUR TEAM LEARNED A LOT FROM THIS TEST SESSION?

We actually have learned a few things here but that's kind of abnormal. The wind blows so hard here that it's really hard to know if you're gaining a half a tenth or - because that's really what you're looking for, hundredths - when the wind is blowing and you have to go back and decipher all the data it makes it a little difficult to know for sure whether something's right or wrong.

Q. DID YOU SPEND A LOT OF TIME ON THE TRACK OR MORE TIME IN LINE TRYING TO GET OUT THERE?

You spend a lot of time in line so it doesn't leave a lot of time to really tune one car, if that's what you're working on. Plus then you have to hurry and rush to do things. It's hard; it's kind of back how it used to be; everything's sitting in line so it's hard to do what you need to do.

Q. WILL DRAFTING TELL YOU A LOT?

Not really. We're not going to draft with our good car. We don't want to tear it up and we have one car that's pretty good so we'll draft with our other car and just go from there.

Q. WITH ALL OF THE DRIVER CHANGES, YOU MIGHT NOT REALIZE WHO IS IN THE CAR NEXT TO YOU IN THE 500. DOES THAT WORRY YOU?

It's hard to know because there are so many changes and so much that's different that it's hard to know what's what and who is in which car. There needs to be a class on who's driving what.

Q. DOES THIS NEW '06 MONTE CARLO SS FEEL ANY DIFFERENT THAN LAST YEAR'S? DO YOU EVEN HAVE TIME TO GET A FEEL FOR IT?

I think for us, we had so much stuff changing that we changed a lot and started testing three-quarters of the way through the year. So we're quite a bit better downforce-wise than we were last year. I don't think that's all nose and tail; I think that's a result of the research that we've done here at RCR. So hopefully we'll find out next week. We've definitely made progress at RCR - I think that as we go through the year it will show up.

Q. WHAT'S YOUR BIGGEST CONCERN RIGHT NOW?

Intermediate - mile-and-a-half stuff.

Q. SO DO YOU THINK NEXT WEEK'S TEST IN LAS VEGAS WILL TELL A LOT TOO?

I think when we get to Atlanta we'll see that we've made some improvements.
