CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Aug. 19, 2008) -- NASCAR veteran Ken Schrader will drive the No. 96 DLP®HDTV Toyota Camry for Hall of Fame Racing in this weekend's Sharpie 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway.
"Ken Schrader has a lot of experience at Bristol and we felt with as competitive as the field will be this weekend, he gives us the best chance to be successful," said Tom Garfinkel, co-owner of Hall of Fame Racing. "Brad Coleman will test for us next week at Kansas Speedway and we plan on having Brad compete in more races throughout the remainder of the year. We look forward to working with Brad as he continues to gain experience at the Sprint Cup level."
Schrader will attempt to make his 723rd career Sprint Cup start and his 47th at Bristol. He has 11 top-10 finishes at Bristol, including a second-place effort in April 1994. In 722 Sprint Cup starts, Schrader has four victories, 184 top-10 finishes and 23 pole positions. Schrader has six NASCAR Nationwide Series starts at Bristol, with two top-10 finishes. In addition, he has four NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series starts at the .533-mile oval and has never finished worse than 18th.
Coleman, who has served as a test driver for Hall of Fame Racing since November 2007, made his Sprint Cup debut last weekend at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn.
