JEFF GORDON TO APPEAR TRUE TO LIFE ON PRIME TIME ABC'S SPIN CITY

CHARLOTTE, N.C. NASCAR Winston Cup champion Jeff Gordon will be part of the cast on ABC's sitcom Spin City on Tuesday, November 17, at 9 p.m. EST.

Gordon will play himself in a role that emulates a role he chooses in life.

The episode is billed The Kidney's All Right, where Gordon, along with New Jersey Nets star Jayson Williams, Michael Flaherty (Michael J. Fox) and the Mayor (Barry Bostwick) are visiting a child who is in the hospital in need of a kidney transplant. The humor evolves as each of them try to one up each other to help console the child. The mayor wins when he offers his own kidney to the child.

I was honored that a prime time show with such a star-studded cast was interested in having me participate in an episode, said Gordon. I had a lot of fun with the entire cast of Spin City and can't wait to see how it turns out.

Gordon won the 1998 USA Weekend Most Caring Athlete Award and the 1996 True Value Man of the Year Award for his dedication to charities such as the Make-A-Wish Foundation and The Bone Marrow Foundation.

Spin City is Gordon's first sitcom appearance.
