NOTES AND QUOTES: "This tire recommendation is similar to last year's CMT 300 at New Hampshire International Speedway," said Tony Freund, Goodyear's lead engineer for stock cars. "The slight difference lies in the left side tire, which has been modified to improve upon its performance on the long, green runs during the race."

In addition, the setup employs a unique combination of tires - the left sides are run at Richmond International Raceway while the right sides are run at Phoenix International Raceway. Both raceways have various banking and straightaway features comparable to New Hampshire. Traditionally, New Hampshire is harder on right side tires than on left side tires, "we are confident that using the combination of both setups will generate an optimum level of wear and grip," confirmed Freund.

Did you know?...As NASCAR rolls into the second half of its season, Goodyear's Akron Technical Center is well on its way to producing the more than 100,000 radial race tires required for NASCAR's top three series by season's end.
