Geoffrey Bodine B This is truly an honor (to be named a Legend of The Glen). We had some ballots at the race shop and I sent one in for Mark Donahue. A lot of you may have heard the story about me sitting in a tree on the back stretch to watch a race here. I think I'm going to go out and look for that tree today. I also remember sitting in turn two with my father watching races here. I watched all my heros - Richard Petty, David Pearson, the Allisons - race here before I ever did. I first came here to race my Modified - I didn't win, but I had a good car. I thought that was the end of it - that I would never get back here - because they stopped racing Modifieds. The next time I raced here, I ran a snowmobile. I didn't win that day either. The engine didn't blow - the belt did. But then I came back and ran the IMSA car with Jack Baldwin. The first Winston Cup race we didn't win, even though I had a good car. We kept coming back and coming back and didn't win but then we finally did in 1996. It was really special. This was truly a surprise. This is really an honor - all the history at this track - all the great drivers - to be among those names is an honor I'll always remember.
