From Goodwood to Daytona, Bobby Labonte is back in a Cup car

Bobby Labonte will make his 724th career Sprint Cup start this weekend.

2000 NASCAR Sprint Cup champion Bobby Labonte is back for his third of four planned starts in the 2015 season. He is scheduled to run all four restrictor plate races at Daytona/Talladega for the Go Green Racing team, sponsored by C&J Energy.

He finished 24th and 27th in his first two starts this season. Last year in the Coke Zero 400, he placed 26th after being taken out in the 'Big One' that saw Kyle Busch roll over. The Texas-native has 32 victories across the top three national divisions of NASCAR, but he's never won at Daytona (Outside of a qualifying race in 1998)

Bobby has been busy lately, recently taking part in the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Labonte joined forces with Richard Childress Racing, piloting Austin Dillon's No. 3 Chevrolet SS.

Things didn't go entirely as planned for the 51-year-old NASCAR legend though... (At least he wasn't the guy who destroyed that Mazda 767B)

The car was repaired and Labonte went on to run his fastest lap in his final run. He is one of multiple drivers sharing the No. 32 Ford Fusion this year, which also include Mike Bliss, Travis Kvapil, Joey Gase, and Boris Said. Labonte's result in the Daytona 500 (24th) is the best of the year for the team.
