FOX ended its half of the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series coverage last weekend in Dover, and the early television ratings numbers showed a dropoff from a year ago.

The Dover race drew a 3.6 rating with a 9 share, down five percent from the 3.8/9 that the series got in the same time slot a year ago – although last year’s event on this date was in Kansas.

In total, the FOX coverage saw its ratings drop five percent from last year, averaging a 4.2 rating with a 9 share. TNT takes over coverage for the remainder of the year, starting with this weekend’s event at Pocono Raceway.
