JIMMY SPENCER-26-Kmart Taurus
"Something broke in the motor. It was just too early in the race to see how good a car you had."

WHAT HAPPENED?
"I don't know. We were just sitting back there riding, just taking our time like a lot of guys. And, this isn't really racing by any means. It's just, 'Oh, I want to lead for a while,' so you step on the gas, you pass a couple of cars, they let you in. You know, I'm just glad everybody got double-filed now and it's pretty good right now, and hopefully it'll stay that way for the 500-mile race, but it won't. We were just sitting back there taking our time and broke something in the motor."

JEFF PURVIS-51-Phoenix Racing Taurus
"We had some rear-end problems right there at the end. We had a good pit stop and I killed the motor when we dropped the jack and that put us behind, and if you ever lose that lead draft you're just basically out of luck. We'd already torn up one this weekend and it didn't look like there was going to be a caution anytime soon, and without being able to come in and work on it, there wasn't anything left to do but just park it."

TODD BODINE-66-Kmart Blue Light Special Taurus
"I'm upset because it only takes one bonehead move to cause a wreck and that's exactly what happened. Everybody was doing a great job, as they have the last two races, at Daytona and here, and we hadn't had any wrecks and everybody's been giving a lot and taking very little. That's what you got to do at these kind of race tracks. He didn't mean to do it - I know he didn't mean to do it - but he did it. He run into me again. He did the same thing at Daytona in the Busch race. I don't know if he's not good at judging the closer rates or not, but it's a shame because our car was real good."

WHAT HAPPENED?
"I'm okay. It's pretty obvious, just got run into from behind. That's the second time Kevin's done that to me. He did the same thing at Daytona in the Busch race. It's a shame, the Kmart Blue Light Special was awesome. We were just up there biding our time, riding around. The car's never qualified well, but it's always raced like a champ. We had a shot for a top-five finish, and it's a shame that one bonehead move and you got a wreck with three guys out of the race and one junked race car - mine's totaled. It's a shame. Kevin's a good kid, I don't know what we got to do to calm him down."

ELLIOTT SADLER-21-Motorcraft Taurus
"Same old stuff, different week. We tried to get to slowed down and somebody ran into the back of me, I'm not sure who, but it tore our car up real bad. Just trying to ride in the back."

WHAT HAPPENED OUT THERE?
"It looked like somebody ran into the back of the 66. I think it was the 29 car again. It's the same story, just a different week. I feel sorry for everybody involved with our team, Motorcraft and everybody. We were just kind of riding around trying to stay out of the wreck, and we got in it. We just slowed down and somebody got in the back of us. That's the way it goes. It's just a tough race and we're going to have to make up some points next week."

MATT KENSETH-17-DeWalt Tools Taurus
"I was happy about our finish. You know, when you come to these restrictor-plate races you're never sure where you're going to finish. If things don't go your way you could finish last, if things go your way you could win the thing. I felt like we had a good car all day. When we got up front we could hold our own up there, so to finish fourth and make it through that mess at the end, I was happy with that."

EVERYBODY WAS WATCHING THE P'S AND Q'S UNTIL THE VERY END.
"When you get in a situation like that where the front-five or so cars are all running wide open on the mat and everybody else in the middle of the pack is running three-quarter throttle, and when they throw the white flag everyone wants to run wide open and come back to the finish line, and there's just so much room for so many cars out there."

DID YOU SEE WHAT HAPPENED? WHERE WERE YOU?
"I was behind it and the 18 and 55, I think, got together and got up real high on the track, and the next thing I knew somebody was coming straight down the track off of turn two."

HOW'D YOU GET THROUGH IT?
"I just stayed on the bottom and stayed on the gas and drove by the 32 while he was spinning."

YOU WERE RUNNING NEAR THE FRONT FOR MOST OF THE DAY.
"Yeah, we ran fairly consistently all day. We were at least up in the top 10 all day, so it's good to get a good finish. A lot of times we come here and run good and still get a bad finish out of it."

JEFF BURTON-99-Citgo SUPERGARD Taurus
"The 18 went high, and I don't know what happened. Just typical last-lap stuff, trying to block, you know, and they got together and I looked in my mirror and I saw the 18, it looks like he went for a real wild ride. Hope everybody's okay over there. It looked pretty ugly. This plate racing, this stuff is going to happen. Too many people in one spot."

WHAT DID YOU SEE?
"I was actually in the place where you wanted to be - I was below it. I saw the cars go high, go low, they made some really quick moves, and I really don't know what happened, I just know that I looked in my mirror and I saw the 18 go for a ride. I hope everybody's okay back there, it looked pretty ugly."

YOU'RE CAR LOOKED PRETTY STRONG ALL DAY.
"Well, if I had the right help I was okay, but we're just slow. I guess I shouldn't complain - we ran third, we led a few laps. But, those guys are just so much faster. They go by you when they want to go by you, and you just have to block and block and block and block and hope they don't ever knock you out of the way because you're just in the way."

ROBERT PRESSLEY-77-Jasper Engines Taurus
"I'm doing fine. Just wrong place at the wrong time there, I guess. Doggone, can't get a break."

WHAT HAPPENED?
"I don't know. It was a big wreck, is all I know. Somebody got turned around and everybody else hit him."

MIKE WALLACE-12-Mobil 1 Taurus
"Yeah, I'm fine. It's a shame guys had to run in to each other and cause a big ol' wreck. The whole race, everybody had run good all day long, and then the last lap, cars that weren't competitive or weren't going to win the race cost a lot of cars good finishes."

YOU RAN UP NEAR THE FRONT.
"I ran up front, off and on, and got shuffled there in the back, and I worked my way back into the top 10 on the last lap, and was just in a position for a top 10 and all hell broke loose in front of us."

RICKY CRAVEN-32-Tide Taurus

ARE YOU OKAY?
"I am. I'm okay."

WHAT DID YOU SEE FROM WHERE YOU WERE?
"The 18 car just clobbered me and I don't know why, but perhaps he got hit by the 55. I don't know."

HOW IMPORTANT WAS IT FOR YOU TO FOLLOW UP LAST WEEK'S WIN WITH ANOTHER STRONG PERFORMANCE?
"It was pretty important. But, it didn't happen, you know what I mean? We really did back it up because we ran well and on the last lap were top five. What a terrible ending."
