Here are some notes on Ford teams and the cars they will be running this weekend:

Rusty will likely be near the front again this weekend because "Mad Max" is back...entering this weekend, Mad Max has an overall record of two wins, four top-five finishes and eight top-10 efforts in 13 races...the car has led laps in seven events and led the most laps in three of those races... Mad Max earned its name after winning the second race at Michigan in 2000, and posted its second at California earlier this season...this car debuted at the 2000 Coca-Cola 600.

The Taurus Martin will race this weekend made its on-track at Charlotte in May...the car (JR-91) competed in The Winston and finished 5th, and then came back the following week to post a 4th-place effort in the Coca-Cola 600...has raced twice since then with one of those being at Michigan in June (finished 16th) and the other being at Charlotte last month (finished 9th).

Kevin Lepage hopes he'll have just as much success with this car on Sunday as he did when he debuted with the 7 team at Charlotte...qualified 5th for the UAW-GM Quality 500 and finished 13th...this car had never been in a race before Charlotte, but it was tested by Mike Wallace during the team's Indy test session in July.

Bodine knows this car inside and out because he has already driven it in 13 races this season... car has competed at Michigan (twice), Pocono (twice), Indy, Chicago, Charlotte (twice), Texas, Atlanta, California, Darlington and's also the car he set the track qualifying record with at the Brickyard 400 in 2000 during second-round qualifying.

The last time Wallace drove this car was at Charlotte right after he made the move from the 7 car...this Taurus had never seen a race track before that Charlotte event, but it was obviously strong as Wallace spent a great deal of time up at the front...never led any laps, but was in the top 10 all afternoon until an engine problem sent him to the garage late in the event (finished 34th).

Kenseth has brought car #15 this's the same piece he debuted earlier in the year at California and finished also raced at Michigan in August and resulted in a fourth-place showing...the last time Kenseth ran this Taurus was at Dover (finished 29th).

Sadler will run a car that has competed in three races so far in 2001...Sadler ran this piece at Pocono in June and finished was supposed to run at Bristol in the spring, but Sadler wrecked on the second lap of practice and had to go to a back-up...this car ran exclusively at Bristol and Dover in 2000...last two races have been at Darlington in September (finished 29th) and Rockingham (finished 23rd).

Spencer will be sporting "The Grinch" paint scheme this weekend...the car itself has raced eight times in 2001, including both Darlington, both Michigan and both Charlotte's also competed at California and Chicago...qualified 5th and finished 6th in the Coca-Cola 600, which is one of this car's four top-10 finishes in 2001...finished just outside the top 10 in its last race at Charlotte in October (11th).

The car Rudd has this weekend is a brand new car, but it's been around the race shop for quite some #87 was built a year ago, but has been sitting around the shop and never been brought the car here to Atlanta for a test session a couple of weeks ago and decided to debut it here this weekend.

Craven made it to victory lane at Martinsville a few weeks ago, but he almost got there months ago with the car he'll be driving this weekend... Craven was running down leader Sterling Marlin with this Taurus at Michigan in August, but ran out of time as rain came pelting down and stopped the race early...Craven's 2nd-place run was his best until winning at Martinsville a couple of weeks later.

Bodine will drive car #10 this weekend, which is the same Taurus he used to win the pole at Chicago in debuted at Texas in March, but has also raced at Indianapolis and Charlotte...qualified 10th at Indy and finished 24th...last time this car ran was at Charlotte and resulted in an outside pole qualifying run and 17th-place finish.

Pressley's best career NWC finish came at Chicago in July when he ran second to winner Kevin Harvick...the car Pressley achieved that feat with will be back in action this weekend at actually debuted at Lowe's Motor Speedway in the spring in The Winston Open and finished 5th...then ended up 3rd in the No Bull Sprint...brought the car back for the 600, but got in an accident and finished 38th...raced at Charlotte in October and finished 25th.

The last time Jarrett came here to Atlanta for a Winston Cup race he sat on the pole and finished 4th...was part of that dramatic four-car battle for the win in the final laps before getting ganged up on by the Chevrolet's of Kevin Harvick, Jeff Gordon and Jerry last ran at Charlotte in October and finished 6th, despite the fact Jarrett was racing with a broken rib suffered the week before in an accident at Kansas.

This will be the first time Mast drives this car, but Hut Stricklin posted the team's best finish of the season with the car when he drove it to a 6th-place finish at Michigan in qualified 8th for the second Michigan event and last appeared at Charlotte in October...Stricklin qualified 17th, but finished 30th.

Busch has had his share of ups and downs of late, but he's hoping to make the field this weekend with a car that has served primarily as a test vehicle much of the year...crew chief Ben Leslie said this piece has had a great deal of track time during practice sessions, but this will be its first race of the season.

Burton has locked up a place in the top 10 of the point standings and now he'll focus on trying to build on his two race wins this season...Burton has raced this car only once in 2001, but it wasn't that long debuted this Taurus at Kansas City and Burton finished 11th.
