Paul Menard on Auto Club Speedway: "We've had a couple of pretty strong runs these last two weeks and I've been really proud of my guys and what we have been able to accomplish. We bring strong cars to the racetrack and have shown up the last couple of weeks with really smart setups to start off the weekend. We've really improved our qualifying program and I think starting near the front certainly has been a part of that improvement on raceday. We just hit on something the last few weeks and have been qualifying well. We hope to continue all the momentum and have a good race this Sunday too."

Crew Chief Slugger Labbe's Thoughts on Auto Club Speedway: "The last time we were there was just the second race of the season. We're not even going to look at what we did in February because so much has changed. Technology has changed and the cars have changed. A lot of things have evolved since then. We'll be close to what we did in Michigan. We've run good in Michigan so we'll go from there.

"Sometimes at California, drafting comes into play. It's a big two-mile track and sometimes when a couple of cars get lined up you can get some draft effects. You'll see cars weaving all over, up by the wall and down by the apron just trying to break the draft of the other cars around them. It's a big track you can move around on and find a grove where you car wants to work and you can catch a sniff of the draft off of another car and get an advantage off of it."

Chassis History: Crew chief Slugger Labbe and the No. 98 RPM crew have prepared chassis No. 693 for this weekend's event. This car was last utilized in the race at Richmond (Va.) International Raceway where Menard qualified seventh. This car was also run at Indianapolis Motor Speedway where it was driven to a 14th-place finish.

Menard continues his activities behind the wheel of the No. 98 Ford Fusion in the NASCAR Nationwide Series this weekend in Fontana. Menard has posted 16 top-10 finishes in Nationwide Series competition this season, which is tied for the most top-10 finishes he has posted in a single season.
