KASEY KAHNE (No. 9 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Charger) -- Sixth
"It was a good run. We had a great Dodge Charger out here tonight. We had a good battle with the track, and we tweaked the setup a little bit every pit stop, trying to make it better. We passed a ton of cars tonight. It was pretty cool. It was a lot of fun to pass cars like that. I don't know if we could have won, but we definitely had a top-five car and we ended up sixth. That's a great way to end our week out at California.
"That wreck early in the race actually didn't hurt us at all. I just barely missed it, and we got lucky that we made it through that. But it didn't hurt the car, and we were in good shape.
"We lost a lot of spots in the pits. There were some tough, fast cars, that's for sure. Cars are not easy to pass in this series. But, we had a good enough car tonight that we were able to, and we still got a good finish out of it."
"I think if I would have pitted at the end, we might have ran better. We definitely wouldn't have run any worse. So, I probably should've pitted. Just by watching the cars around me, I was really scared to come down pit road, and I didn't do it. But, if anything we would've run better if we would have pitted. We wouldn't have run any worse."
RUSTY WALLACE (No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge Charger) -- 15th
"That green flag pit stop, it got me down. It really did. We made a lot of ground. We got way up in the front of the pack. We got way up there, then all of a sudden I pitted because I thought I had a tire going down. I only had two laps to go. I said, 'When's the time to pit?' And he says, 'Two laps.' And I said, 'Well, hell, I'll come on down right now.' And then that darn caution flew and put us all the way back. It took us two shots to get the lucky dog. We finally got it, and it was just a nightmare. But, thank god I got her back. But, we're in the Chase, and that's the big deal."
RYAN NEWMAN (No. 12 SONY HD TV/Alltel Dodge Charger) -- 18th
"That's okay. We've got what we've got right now. We had a good test at Richmond, unfortunately this Sony Dodge Charger didn't run as well as we wanted it to. But, it was a good effort. We're still alive. We've got our heads just barely below water, but we've got time to pick it back up, and get a breath of fresh air."
STERLING MARLIN (No. 40 Coors Light Dodge Charger) -- 19th
"We had a good car all night. We just made bad pit calls at the end."
JEREMY MAYFIELD (No. 19 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Charger) -- 26th
"We just couldn't get a handle on the car tonight. Our Dodge Charger was tight the whole race. We wanted to be a little conservative this weekend, but we wanted a better finish than that. At least we finished the race and earned some points tonight."
CASEY MEARS (No. 41 Target Dodge Charger) -- 32nd
"We had a car that we thought could have won the race, to be honest. I felt really good about it. We charged through the field from 33rd to, like, sixth or eighth. I had a pit stop and we let the right-front loose. And we went a lap down getting four tires. We started up front on the next restart and we got our lap back on it. We were faster than the leaders. And then we started all the way in the back again, and worked our way back up to eighth or so. Then a bolt broke in the sway bar arm. I don't know what to say. I keep saying its bad luck, but something keeps happening to us each week. So we probably need to look at what we're doing."
