JAMIE McMURRAY - No. 26 Crown Royal Ford Fusion
"The 10 car just spun out and he tried to save it and then got up into the outside wall, and you're like 10 feet behind him, so you're just hanging on. An unfortunate day."
HOW FRUSTRATING IS IT TO HAVE SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAPPEN BEFORE THE DAY REALLY BEGINS? "This has been a really good track for me, so I really look forward to coming to Fontana. We didn't qualify well, but our car seemed pretty good there the first four or five laps, at least what we got to try. We'll fix it and ride around and get as many points as we can."
KEN SCHRADER - No. 21 Little Debbie Ford Fusion
"We don't know for sure. Something inside. We've got to finish these races. We're not doing that so far."
DO YOU THINK IT HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE UNLEADED FUEL? "I don't know anything about those engines, other than ours broke. That's very unusual for a Roush-Yates motor. They're good, dependable engines. It could be a little bit of that. This is the first real good test for it."
DAVID GILLILAND - No. 38 M&M's Ford Fusion
"It's not what we hoped for but we came out of here with a 25th-place finish. We weren't good when we unloaded and we just never got where we needed to be."
WHAT'S THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCE FOR YOU BETWEEN LAST WEEK AND TODAY? "Just different track, different tire, everything's different. Hopefully, we'll be better next time."
DOUG YATES - Roush Yates Engines
YOU SAID ON FRIDAY IT MIGHT BE A RACE OF ATTRITION, BUT THE FORDS WEREN'T HIT HARD BY THAT. "I don't know if it was fuel related but this is a hard race, and you just have to do your homework. It was a lot of engines, and when it happened early, if you're an engine builder you're sitting there saying, 'Whoa,' because we don't want anybody to have trouble, but we'll see what happens. Hopefully, they're not fuel related. We'll see. We'll look at our parts after the race, and hopefully everything will look good and we'll keep moving on. But the unleaded fuel thing is pretty difficult."
OVERALL, YOU'RE PLEASED? "Overall, I'm pleased. The deal that happened with Kenny [Schrader] was unfortunate, but I think it's not related to fuel, for sure. We'll just have to go back home and see figure out how to make stuff stronger."
