Edwards bringing winning Sonoma chassis to Watkins Glen
Carl Edwards hopes to sweep the road courses by bringing his winning piece from Sonoma to the twist and turns of the Glen.
Carl Edwards heads into Watkins Glen this weekend in search of just his second road course win, only thing is, he's also the most recent winner at a road course. Despite no wins at Watkins Glen, Edwards has performed well there.
In nine starts, he's placed inside the top five on four occasions and inside the top ten six times. His best finish at the track is third, coming in 2009. This weekend, Roush-Fenway Racing has opted to bring chassis RK-917, which is the same car he won at Sonoma with earlier in the summer.
Edwards will be searching for his third victory this year, which would be the most wins he's amassed in a single season since winning nine in 2008.
