New York City, N.Y. (September 18, 2000) -- Dale Earnhardt did not return home to Charlotte, N.C. with the majority of other NASCAR drivers following Sunday's Dura Lube 300 in Loudon, N.H. Instead, Earnhardt stopped in New York City for a two-day jaunt where he will make a couple national television appearances. Earnhardt's first stop will be to MSNBC to visit friend and news anchor, Brian Williams. Williams, an avid racing fan who is seen regularly at Flemington Speedway in New Jersey, will sit down with the seven-time Winston Cup Champion on Monday, September 16 at 9:00pm.

"I'm always up for an NYC visit if Brian (Williams) is involved," Earnhardt said. "Talladega a year ago was the last time we sat down for a lengthy interview, and Brian brought his son, Douglas, with him. After the interview, Douglas wanted to see the car. I told him to touch the car, and if he had the golden touch, then the next time he saw me would be in victory lane. Douglas touched the car and I saw Douglas and Brian in Victory Lane 188 laps later.

"Of course I'm going to make a special trip to visit Douglas, I mean Brian," Earnhardt laughed.

Additionally, Earnhardt will visit the Fox and Friends morning show early Tuesday morning.
