Earnhardt Jr. confident ahead of 500

During Media Day, Dale Earnhardt Jr. spoke about what it took for him to win the great American race one year ago, and what it will take to do it again next week.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. highlighted the fact that the restrictor plate package that NASCAR is using this year is almost identical to last year's regulations.

"They didnt change a whole lot for the Daytona cars. I feel confident with what we did last year that we can come in and be comepetitive," Junior said.

He added that fact that the right decisions were made in the draft one year ago that was able to get the team to victory lane.

"There was a lot of decisions on the racetrack that winning the race depended on," he said.

"I have to be disciplined with myself to fight for those spots and work real hard, and not get too relaxed in the car and stay up on the wheel."
