DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Dale Earnhardt, Jr. has been cleared to race this weekend at Talladega by NASCAR medical staff. Earnhardt suffered a slight concussion, bruised foot and arm at Dover last weekend, but was given clearance after a medical exam.

As per NASCAR policy, Earnhardt was required to undergo medical test and full examination to ensure that he was fit to drive on this weekend's 2.66-mile superspeedway race.

Earnhardt is attempting to earn his fifth consecutive Talladega Winston Cup win this weekend.

According to statements by DEI representatives earlier this week, Earnhardt is on crutches and has been advised to stay off his feet and rest. A replacement driver will likely stand by Sunday, in case Earnhardt cannot complete the full distance.
