CAT Team heads to Dover.
"We can't seem to catch a break at all this year, at least since the Daytona
500. We have worked real hard and we just can't seem to get the finishes to
show for our hard work. Maybe we can get a little luck this weekend and get
a good finish for everyone on the CAT team."
- Ward Burton, driver of the Caterpillar Dodge
BALDWIN ON THE COCA-COLA 600...
"It is very frustrating for us. We came back after the Winston and got a brand new car ready to race in the 600. When we got to Charlotte, we were off a little in the handling but we knew that we could get to the front during such a long race. But, we never got to see how good of a racecar we had because we had motor problems from the start. We tried everything we could to fix the motor - spark plugs, plug wires, carburetor, and fuel filter. Nothing seemed to fix the problem. I had just radioed Ward that we would just have to ride it out and hope to gain some spots and then he ran over something on the track, cut a right-front tire and hit the outside wall. The car was junked. We should've been able to run with most of those guys in the top 10, but never got the opportunity.
CAT TEAM CANCELS TEST SESSION AT POCONO...
Due to the violent wreck that Burton suffered in the Coca-Cola 600, the CAT team elected to cancel their test session at Pocono Raceway this week. Burton suffered a mild concussion in the wreck Sunday night.
BALDWIN LOOKS TO DOVER TO TURN THINGS AROUND...
"I'm hoping we can return to our usual form this weekend in Dover. It (Dover) hasn't been one of our better tracks in the performance category, but if we could have something go our way we would definitely have a shot at a decent run. We're taking our Bristol car this weekend and hopefully we won't have any problems. It's a great car and if we hadn't had the electrical problems at Bristol, then we could've been a top 10 car. We'll see what the weekend brings us - we hope it will bring us some better finishes."
