* Practice makes perfect -- The No. 7 team will head to Sonoma, California to test at the Infineon Raceway June 7-8 in preparation for the June 26th NASCAR Nextel Cup race
* Purple and gold colors -- This week's paint scheme will feature the bright yellow and purple Harrah's and Jim Beam paint scheme
* No Impound -- This weeks event will not be a impound event
* Staying out of trouble -- In seven NEXTEL Cup starts at Dover Gordon has completed 98.9% of the laps
* Double Duty -- Gordon will run the Red Bull Trophy in Ensenada, Mexico on Saturday before the NEXTEL Cup race
* A little help -- While Gordon is competing in the Baja 500 on Saturday, Martin Truex Jr. will help out Robby Gordon Motorsports by practicing the car in race-setup
Robby Gordon on a strong showing at Charlotte
"We are getting much closer to what we expected out of our team from the start. While we finished 27th Sunday night in the Coca-Cola 600, we were on pace for a top five if not a win when the right-front brake rotor failed putting us out of the race. We got two laps down early and fought back by getting both of our laps back the old-fashioned way. We passed Ryan Newman twice and when you can do that you know you're among the fastest cars on the track. Despite a bad finish, I'm excited by the progress of the team, and I think you're starting to see what our guys are capable of. The Menard guys have been making steady progress on the engine program, and the issues that we had earlier in the season are all behind us."
Greg Erwin's Quotes on Dover
"Dover is one of my favorite race tracks -- it is a driver's track. I think Robby likes it as well -- he likes Bristol and the two are very similar. It's very difficult to drive because the corner entry is very violent due to the steep banking. Robby had some strong runs in the No. 31 and our own Busch car last year so we know he knows how to get around the track.
The fact that this is a non-impound race helps us this weekend. On Friday we can completely focus on fast qualifying setup while Saturday we'll zero in on the race-setup. Everything from the motor to the aero is important but this week the shock and spring combinations are huge. The extra day of practice will be big for us.
I'm looking forward to working with Martin Truex. He has run well in his stuff there in the past. Robby has a ton of respect for him so he was the perfect person to practice our car this weekend while Robby is running Baja. Robby will not get to practice the car with the race-setup on so Martin's feedback is going to be very important to our team and we can't thank him enough for offering to help us out.
It's the same tire that Goodyear brought last year so we don't expect any surprises there. With any luck we'll put everything together this week and come out of Dover with a strong finish."
Extreme Double Duty
Gordon will return to his racing roots to compete in his No. 83 Red Bull Chevy CK1500 Trophy-Truck in the SCORE Baja 500 on Saturday. The Three-time SCORE class point champion will once again pull double-duty, qualifying for the NEXTEL Cup event in Dover on Friday, flying to Ensenada, Mexico and racing the Baja 500 on Saturday and returning to Dover for the NEXTEL Cup event on Sunday
For the first time in several years, the Tecate SCORE Baja 500 will be televised nationally on a delayed basis. With multiple showings, The Outdoor Life Network (OLN) will air the race as a one-hour primetime special. Aura 360, the Maine production and marketing company that has this year's SCORE television rights, will produce the show.
