COMMENT ON HOW YOU'RE DEALING WITH THIS SEASON "The cool thing about it is things can change so quickly. You just keep working. Yesterday we qualified fourth. I felt like we were back to old times. Everything was good -- practice, qualifying, the Busch car. Things can change so fast and you can feel confident and good whether you're 30th in points or fifth, you can feel good and your team really fast."
COMMENT ON THE CHALLENGES NEXT WEEK AT POCONO "It's always been a pretty fun track. I've always enjoyed Pocono. I'm looking forward to next week. I think it will be fun when we do take the COT car there. It'll be a new experience for sure in '08 and it'll be interesting. I'm starting to really like this car (Avenger). It's a pretty neat car and it seems like it's getting better and better every time we race it."
ANY CHALLENGE WITH GOING BACK TO THE CHARGER NEXT WEEK AT POCONO? "We were in it last week. It's not a very big deal. It takes you thinking about how the car works a little bit differently and what kind of setups you need because it reacts a little different, but other than that driving it is very similar. You just get in it and drive it and figure it out as you go."
COMMENT ON WINNING FOR RAY EVERNHAM "Ray's is why I'm where I'm at, and you really want to step up and do the best you can for him. He works as hard as he can and he does his best to give all three of the teams in his organization a chance to win. You want to win for Ray. I want to win for Ray. I want to win for the fans. I want to win for myself for my team. It's a big deal. When you get down it's nice to make all those people feel good again and get excited and get pumped up."
COMMENT ON YOUR FAN FOLLOWING "It's stayed a lot better than I would have expected. As much as we've struggled, you still see a lot of fans and you still sign a lot of stuff. You go out to my trailer and it'll be full of people instantly for souvenirs. Like I've always said, our fans are the most loyal people we have in sports. They stick with you through the good and bad it seems like."
DO YOU GET A LOT OF ADVICE FROM YOUR FANS? "I get a lot of letters from females saying keep your head up and you'll win. It's just a matter of time, but nobody has sent me advice on how to fix it. "
WILL IT BE HARD TO PASS HERE? "This place is hard to pass, but it's easy to pass, too. It just depends on how your car is. I think with the COT car it's going to be easier to pass than with the other car. For me, I just feel like this track will be easy to pass on. There's lots of room and the cars will be moving around. It'll be plenty of time to get by somebody if you're better than he is."
COMMENT ON YOUR PROGRESS WITH THE AVENGER "I really felt good about it yesterday. Darlington we felt much better and Richmond we felt much better. It's slowly been getting better and better whether it's the driver picking it up, which I'm definitely picking it up and the team is picking it up. We're getting better cars and better starting points. You just put all that together and I think this was definitely our best COT Friday practice. We'll see how things go today. We started the best we had yet."
DO YOU THINK YOU QUALIFIED WELL BECAUSE YOU DID NOT TEST HERE? "I think not testing was fine. It was the same for everybody, so it wasn't too big of a deal. I was actually really happy we didn't test here. I didn't want to come up here two days to test and fit it in between the all-star race and the 600. Our weeks are busy enough during that time, and I was really happy we didn't test. I thought yesterday was a good enough test for everybody."
