KASEY KAHNE QUOTES
"We didn't have the finish we worked very hard for last week at New Hampshire, but we didn't wreck the car and finished 16th. I thought we had a top-10 racecar, but it was too tight there at the end of the race and we couldn't challenge the leaders.
"Dover can be very tough. It's fast. If something happens in front of you, it's difficult to avoid. We've had our share of bad luck there in the past, but finished seventh in the first race this year. The best situation will be to start up front in the No. 9 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Charger and not have to gamble on pit strategy for track position.
"Kenny (Francis, team director) has been successful at Dover in the past. And we have tracks coming up where we've had success earlier this year. We didn't get off to as good a start in the Chase as we wanted, but there's still a lot of racing before this championship is decided. I'm making my 100th start this weekend. Maybe that's worth a little extra good luck."
KASEY KAHNE FAST FACTS
Kahne will make his 100th career start this weekend at Dover International Speedway.
Bad luck has kept Kahne from running at the finish in three of his five starts at Dover. His DNFs were due to a flywheel malfunction and wrecks not of his own making. In the other two races, Kahne finished 16th and seventh, respectively. (fall 2005 and spring 2006)
Kahne gained two positions in the Chase for the Championship this week, moving up from 10th to eighth. He is just 46 points out of fifth and 110 out of the lead.
