"That was a decent lap. The guys have been working hard, and we needed this. That will be a good starting spot. We need to work on consistency. We started out pretty good this season, but we need to really finish strong."
REED SORENSON (No. 41 Target Dodge Charger) -- 7th
"We came to the green pretty good and got through one and two, but I think we lost a little bit in three and four. I got back in the gas a little early. We haven't had the best qualifying efforts here lately, so this is a good run for us. The last time here I think we qualified 29th, so it's a lot better than that. The car's run well for us. We've crashed it about five times this year and thought about giving it away. We kept it and brought it here, and it's been running good in race trim and really good in qualifying trim. Coming into this weekend, just off our performance here last time, I would say no (chance to win Sunday). We need more practice. We only ran about 20 laps in practice this morning. We look like we're a top 10 car. That's good for us right now. That's what we're trying to do."
KURT BUSCH (No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge Charger) -- 10th
"We were a little tight in practice, and then we were a little tight on that run, so our car didn't react to the changes. We maintained from practice, so we'll see where it shakes out. We went out first and the car was a little on the tight side. We feel confident in the setup, and we think it'll be good on race day. The first lap I was all over the place. The second lap I thought I hit it better and it was slower. I think it was just because of the tires sliding on the first lap. We're not pole material, but we should be OK. We went out first and there's only one track where you want to go out first and that's Indy. You go out there at 10 o'clock in the morning. You want to be the first car out there."
KASEY KAHNE (No. 9 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Charger) -- 21st
"The car seems pretty good. I was a little looser than we were in practice. I guess the track freed up, and we weren't quite as fast as we wanted to be. I think it'll be a decent lap, and I'm looking forward to Sunday's race. It'll be good to get a good run at Dover. I don't think going out early hurt us. We were just a little freer than we were in practice. That was just a different track than I was on earlier today. We were fastest in practice, and the car felt great there in qualifying. It was just too loose to go that fast."
ELLIOTT SADLER (No. 19 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Charger) -- 35th
"We were way too loose, and we've been fighting that in qualifying trim all day. We'll get our race setup dialed in and see if we can give 'em a run for their money on Sunday."
RYAN NEWMAN (No. 12 Alltel Dodge Charger) -- 4th
"I'm pretty sure I lost a little time in one and two, but we gained some of it back in three and four. You can't hit it perfect every time. We got a little bit sideways on the first lap, not much. I steered the wheel a little bit to the right. By the time the car landed I was still pointed right and the car took off up the hill a little bit and I had to correct. I still love this track. It's a great racetrack for everybody -- the drivers, the teams, the fans. Pit road is a little tight, but we've got to have something to complain about. It would be nice if we could win here again. We'll keep going and keep working on it. It hasn't been a good year for us, but we can finish up strong and make it a good year."
