Elliott follows Earnhardt's lead with BGN driver
After Earnhardt moving Steve Parks, his BGN driver, to run a limited WC schedule. It appears that Bill Elliott will do the same with Rin Barfield. He will attempt to qualify for 2 WC race, Pocono and the Brickyard. Barfield will leave the ARCA team and attempt to make most of the BGN races for the rest of the year. He also plans to run a full BGN schedule in 1998.
Dover plans seating increase
Dover has received the green light to increase there seating capacity. Earlier this month local officials said it would be o.k. to increase from 96,000 to 180,000 by the year 2004.
Geoff Bodine and QVC
It looks like the rumors were true about Geoff Bodine and QVC. Word is that Geoff Bodine has let QVC out of there contract. Word is that he will run bare quarterpanels in an attempt to lure a new sponsor.

Terry Labonte fined in BGN race at Charlotte
Driver Terry Labonte was fined $2,000 by NASCAR on Thursday for rough driving following Saturday's Carquest Auto Parts 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Labonte's actions were deemed detrimental to auto racing. He finished 11th and won about $6,000.
