Those last couple of laps I moved up to the top to see if we could make some speed because we were at a big deficit all day. I was just trying to get caught up, but we blew a right-front tire for some reason."

HOW WAS THE CAR BEFORE THAT? "I was actually loose all day and we tried to tighten it up every stop, so, like I said, I don't know why we blew one. I thought the car was plenty on the loose side. I thought I would have blown a right-rear first, but that just happens here at Dover every once in awhile. It's just a bad break for us."

ELLIOTT SADLER -21-Motorcraft Taurus (Finished 10th)

TOP-10 START AND A TOP-10 FINISH. DOES THAT QUALIFY AS A GOOD, SOLID WEEKEND? "Yeah, I think so. We just missed it a little bit today on the setup. The team never gave up, great pit stops. We needed a good run, we've had so much bad luck, to come in and finish like we did, it's great." YOU STAYED IN THE TOP 15 ALL DAY. "That's what makes it fun, running in the top 12 or 13 like that all day, that's pretty neat. We just missed it a little bit, but that's alright, that happens sometimes."

HOW MUCH HELP WAS THAT CAUTION WITH 25 LAPS TO GO? "A bunch to me. We tried to stay out on old tires, and we were just way too loose. Pat kept working on it, kept working on it and we finally got it to where we finished with a top 10. So, we needed that."

JEFF BURTON -99-Citgo Taurus (Finished 3rd)

"We certainly had a top 10 car most of the day. We were real loose at the start and got a lap down. We made a change after getting a lap down and drove all the way back up to about seventh from being a lap down, so that was good. When we were too loose we just couldn't go at all. When we were right, we were pretty fast. We never had anything for the 48, but, at times, we had something for everybody else and at times we didn't."

YOU CAME FROM A LONG WAY BACK. "I want to thank Matt Kenseth and all of his team. They came up here and tested and we used a lot of their setup stuff. We were way too loose at the start of the race and got a lap down, but kept working and got the thing tightened up. We had a fifth to a 10th place car most of the time and we were about a fifth-place car at the end. We put on two (tires) and we ended up third, so we had great pit strategy. I'm real proud of my guys. We kept fighting all day and got a good finish."

RYAN NEWMAN -12-ALLTEL Taurus (Finished 4th)

"I want to congratulate Jimmie Johnson first of all. Those guys did an excellent job all day. We just needed track position. It seemed like we had a good race car, but the air just kept screwing us up. We got up there and got some track position with pit strategy and we were a contender right there until the end. I wish it was a 500-mile race now."

WHAT ABOUT ALMOST GETTING BURTON AT THE END? "He didn't take tires and I had. It's just a matter of four tires versus no tires. We raced clean and that was fun."

WHAT HAPPENED WITH STEVE PARK EARLIER IN THE RACE? "I've seen it happen several times there and I guess I was the one at fault this time. I got underneath him and got in the gas and washed the nose. At about the same time, he started coming down the race track. I had been following him for about 10-15 laps and it was just a racing accident to me. I feel sorry for him. I hope he's alright."

DID YOU HAVE ANYTHING FOR JIMMIE TODAY? "He had an awesome race car. We kept working on ours and getting it better and better, but you never know. I guess that's the way it ended and congratulations to him."

MARK MARTIN -6-Viagra Taurus (Finished 41st)

"They built me a really good race car. I told Ben during the race that if they can keep building race cars like that, we could win a lot of races. It's unfortunate we got caught up in an accident, but we'll have a lot of chances to do it this year. The Viagra team fought all day and I'm proud of them for that. We'll come back next week at Pocono and see what we can do."

DALE JARRETT -88-UPS Taurus (Finished 5th)

"My team does a good job week in and week out, but today they were especially good. We made up a lot of positions in the pits everytime and all the credit goes to them. We made the car a lot better throughout the weekend and made it competitive. That's what we're after right now. If we can get competitive, then we can work on the little things. That's what we need to do - have days like this. I thought we had a better chance than that towards the end, but the last two sets of tires were really tight and that just hurt us through the center of the corner. But, all in all, it was a good day. Our car was really good on long runs and we had some long greens there. That seemed to benefit us. I was kind of hoping things would go green the rest of the way, but, as usual, they didn't. Still, it was a good day."

RICKY CRAVEN -32-Tide Taurus (Finished 7th)

"Boy, you look at the right-front fender and I can't believe how well these guys stuck with it. They kept sacrificing the chassis to help the balance because we didn't have downforce on the right-front. That wasn't helping me entering the corner, but it was a compromise. Then the got me track position and when they got me track position we had a chance. At the end there it worked out pretty good."

WAS THE INCIDENT WITH THE 10 CAR JUST A CASE OF PIT ROAD BEING REALLY TIGHT? "Oh yeah. Pit road is ridiculous. It's absolutely ridiculous. It's hard enough to get down pit road by yourself, so then you've got a guy in front of you that you've got to turn right leaving pit road and then you've got a guy trying to get into his pit. It's the one challenge right now in Winston Cup racing, with as tight as we race and with as many cars that stay on the lead lap throughout the race, they've got to re-evaluate the pit stalls. They should all be the same. They shouldn't have to rehearse before the race how big this pit stall is versus how big the pit stall was last week versus how big it might be next week. They ought to be standard size and they ought to do whatever they've got to do to do that with the exception of the short tracks. I felt like we were in a position to win the race and that was basically gone after we got torn up by a car turning left in his pit."

RICKY RUDD -28-Havoline Taurus (Finished 19th)

WHAT HAPPENED WITH THE LAST PIT STOP? "We had a loose wheel on a pit stop and had to come back in to change tires."

DESPITE THAT THE TEAM SHOWED SOMETHING. "This is a good race team. It seems like we always get these little deals that bite us when we've got a chance to win. I don't know what to say, it's just bad luck I guess."

TODD BODINE -26-Discover Card Taurus (Finished 18th) - "We had a top-five car, but that mishap with Joe set us back. My hat's off to the crew. They gave me a really fast car and the pit stops were fast. It's great to be back. The longer we ran under green, the tighter we got. I'm just proud of how we kept digging. We'll take it. Our day will come."
