NEW LOOK IN '06: Reese's Racing will make the jump as a sponsor from the Busch Series to the NEXTEL Cup Series. Reese's will sponsor 13 races throughout the 2006 season, while GM Goodwrench will partner up and sponsor the other 24 races. Reese's will hopefully carry its luck with Harvick to the Cup Series. In just 2 full seasons in the Busch Series, Reese's Racing earned 5 victories, 29 top-five finishes, 40 top-10 finishes, 3 pole positions and led 917 laps spanning 69 races. With the success that Reese's and GM have in racing it should be a year to remember for the No. 29 GM Goodwrench/Reese's Chevrolet.
3 TIMES A CHARM: Harvick has seen great success in the Budweiser Shootout at Daytona International Speedway (DIS). In his two career starts he has posted two top ten finishes including a 3rd place finish in the 2004 Shootout.
SPECIAL PAINT SCHEME: The No. 29 Reese's/GM Goodwrench Chevrolet will have a special look for the 2006 Budweiser Shootout. It will feature Reese's Caramel Cup.
SUPER SPEEDWAY: Harvick has 19 career starts on super speedways in the NEXTEL Cup Series. He has recorded eight top 10 starts, which included 2 Budweiser polls at Talladega and Daytona. Harvick also racked up eight top 10 finishes to go with five top 5 finishes at superspeedways.
179 AND COUNTING: Last year at the Daytona 500 Harvick made his 142nd career NEXTEL Cup Series start. This weekend at the Bud Shootout he will be making his 179th start. Since that milestone Harvick has collected 1 win, 3 top-five finishes and 10 top-10 finishes.
HOW SWEET IT IS: If Harvick could win the 2006 Bud Shootout it would not only mean a great start for the team, but also could lead to a great finish. Since the inception of this non-points event in 1979 Richard Childress Racing has claimed 6 victories. Four of those 6 victories kicked off Championship seasons for RCR (1980, 1986, 1991, 1993).
SHOW ME THE MONEY: Harvick has attained a significant amount of success on the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series. Harvick has collected 5 wins, 30 top-five finishes, 66 top-10 finishes and 4 poles in his NEXTEL Cup Series career. With this success "Happy" Harvick has moved himself into the Top 25 in career earnings with $19,709,874. (NEXTEL Cup point races only).
Crew chief Todd Berrier on being in the 2006 Bud Shootout: "It is a great opportunity for us to get all the bugs worked out when it comes to our spotter and pit crew before the Daytona 500. It also gives us another opportunity to win a race that some teams don't have."
Crew chief Todd Berrier on what car they are bringing to the Bud Shootout: "It is a new car that we tested at the Daytona International Speedway back in January. We did drafting practice with it there and it seemed to draft very well. The Bud Shootout will be the car's first race and hopefully Harvick will drive it into victory lane."
