Raced in all 2005 Superspeedway races by Jeremy Mayfield; finished fourth at Talladega in April 2005.

KASEY KAHNE QUOTES

"I'm excited. I can't wait to get back on the track at Daytona and get the season started. The No. 9 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Charger has a new paint scheme and is ready to go."

"The Bud Shootout is a fun race and it's a Saturday night race, which creates even more excitement. I'm definitely looking forward to a better finish in this year's Shootout than we had last year."

"We will learn a lot on Friday and Saturday that can be helpful for the Daytona 500. It's a different car, but you can apply what you learn to the 500 car."

"The engine team at Evernham Motorsports has really picked up. Our Dodge Chargers are definitely better than what they were last year, just by having more time to work with them. I have a new team director and crew. Our speedway program should be better than it was in 2004 and 2005."

On the new team structure:

"It's worked great so far. Ray Evernham has done a lot of things. He's won championships in NASCAR. He has a lot of great ideas. This one is different from what everybody else is doing, but it's really not as different as people think from the outside. Kenny Francis is the team director. Mike Shiplett is our car director and then we have our engineer, Keith. Working with those three so far this week and working with them in the offseason, it's been great. Each one of them talks to each other. Kenny has final say in everything. Kenny is going to be on the radio talking to me during the races and figuring out things as he bounces questions off Mike and Keith. I think it's really a perfect situation. We'll just have to see how it all works out, but so far it's really worked out good."

KASEY KAHNE IN THE BUDWEISER SHOOTOUT
This weekend's race marks Kahne's second start in the Budweiser Shootout. In 2005, he started 13th and finished the race in ninth place.

Kahne earned a berth in this year's Budweiser Shootout by collecting Bud Pole Awards at Darlington Speedway and Richmond International Raceway in May of 2005.

KASEY KAHNE AT DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY
In Kahne's most recent visit to Daytona International Speedway he earned his career-best start at the racetrack (19th) and his career-best finish (16th).

NEW LOOK FOR 2006
Starting with the Budweiser Shootout, the No. 9 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Charger will sport a new paint scheme for the 2006 season. Reflecting the bold design of the Dodge Charger production vehicle, the No. 9 will still feature the bright red hood with the signature Dodge Ram's head and branding for the Dodge Dealers. But, Kahne's Charger will have white doors and fenders and the numbers on the side of the car will be black and the top of the car will be white.
