NASCAR Fans E-mail List

Well it is great to be back although I must say that I'm completely overwhelmed with mail and for this fact I will still be a little slow in coming back up to speed. There has been a burst in subscriptions (welcome all the new folks). I'm very very happy with the job that Henry and Mike have done (Well done guys!) and I will continue to keep them on the list and you should only see the news and information become more current and timely. Henry Mike and I have some work to do on co-ordination and timing but I think as you can see both are very worthy news sources and they are welcome at NASCAR Fans as long as they like. I've got a few comments that I'll squeeze in on this mailing as well but I mainly wanted to get everyone updated on some things that I'm into at the moment. There has been alot (100's) of letters on the web board. This was a complete accident, my last posting knocked the new board out and the old one was disabled. I apologize and I'll get it back up asap. We've experienced a huge increase (as I mentioned) in the list and due to this I have a bit of maintainence to do. The request to move and unsubscribe may be a few days in coming as I try to catch up. Website will again become active tomorrow morning (Wed). Qualifying will be covered for New Hampshire.

Daytona Observations

I spent a fair amount of time and the track through the week, and got to meet several drivers. The most eventful of the meets were those of Bill Elliott and Jeff Green. Elliott was swamped with fans (as usual) and the thing that impressed me the most about him was his willingness to sit through about 3 to 4 hours worth of autographs. Each it seemed with a smile. Bill is a standup guy. He unveiled the Mac Tonight Car as rumors has swirled on the list, he mentioned that it was painted with a special dayglow paint that would cause it to show up great under the night lights. The release mentioned that he would be runnning this car for the night races that remain this year. The promo began with Elliott driver the new car (police escorted) down International Speedway Blvd to the Speedway MacDonalds. He pulled the car up on a ramp and there were numerous Photo Opts. NASCAR Fans will have pictures soon. The ending was the 4 hour autograph session. Jeff Greens was a little less flare and about the same amount of people. He unveiled the new paint scheme rumored by us and Jayski a while back of Tom and Jerry and a few new characters on the Cartoon car. The primary color of course is white. Nice looking car. Bad luck followed the introduction as Jeff's car (a backup) was not fast enough to make the feild. Lotsa stuff to talk about but little time. Expect more about the Daytona trip to follow as I get caught up.

Ernie Out

Really kinda caught me off gaurd. I knew the talk was still out there but now it is official. I think (speculation) that this all stems from Havoline. Kenny Irwin should be the replacement. He has been compared to Jeff Gordon in several ways, Young, up and coming and such. I'd expect an official announcement soon.

That's it for now. Great to be back and I'll talk to you soon. Until I can get caught up ( a day or so) I'll leave it in Mike's hands. Thanks again guy's
