Circle K To Sponsor Pepsi 400 Qualifying Night

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., (April 8, 2004) -- Daytona International Speedway officials announced today that Circle K will sponsor pole qualifying for the Pepsi 400 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race at the "World Center of Racing." Circle K Pole Qualifying Night will be held under the lights on Thursday night, July 1.

Circle K Pole Qualifying Night will feature the stars of the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series turning two high-speed qualifying laps with hopes of capturing the Budweiser Pole and a spot in the 43-car field for the 46th annual Pepsi 400, which is scheduled for Saturday night, July 3.

"We're excited about Circle K sponsoring qualifying for the Pepsi 400 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race," said Speedway President Robin Braig. "The entire Pepsi 400 weekend, including Circle K Pole Qualifying Night, will be full of speed, excitement and fireworks."

"Circle K is proud to kick-off the Pepsi 400 Weekend at Daytona International Speedway with Circle K Pole Qualifying Night," said Circle K's Gulf Coast Region Category Manager, Gary Fletcher. "We're looking forward to a great, competitive evening, and to setting the field for Saturday night's Pepsi 400 under the lights."

Following Circle K Pole Qualifying Night, the Rolex Sports Car Series takes center stage at Daytona International Speedway with the Paul Revere 250 presented by Brumos Porsche.

The 250-mile, 70-lap race will feature the always-exciting Daytona Prototypes in a battle for supremacy on Daytona International Speedway's historic 3.56-mile road course.

In last year's qualifying for the Pepsi 400, Steve Park was the surprise pole winner with a speed of 184.752 mph. In the Paul Revere 250, Forest Barber and Terry Borcheller teamed up for 14.465-second victory in the No. 54 Bell Motorsports Daytona Prototype.

Tickets for Circle K Pole Qualifying Night and the Paul Revere 250 presented by Brumos Porsche are available online at www.daytonainternationalspeedway.com or by calling the Speedway ticket office at 1-800-PITSHOP.
