KURT BUSCH (No. Miller Lite Dodge Charger) Finished 6th

"A lot better than last year, I can tell you that. We just got caught up in that early spin which made us start from behind again. The Miller Lite Dodge was running a little loose, so we adjusted and made it a little bit too tight. We're just running on too fine of a line right now. It's really important for us to make the car more adjustable for the full 500 miles."

YOU HAD THE INCIDENT LAST YEAR THAT FORCED YOU TO START 43RD; IT MUST BE SOMEWHAT OF A RELIEF KNOWING YOU'VE BROUGHT YOUR DODGE BACK IN ONE PIECE? "It really is (a good feeling). To have our Miller Lite Dodge back after the Duel and not all beat and banged up is a relief for everyone….myself, Pat (Tryson, crew chief) and especially the crew guys. It looks like we've got a top-15 starting spot and we'll go from there. The big picture is how we get our car to handle better for 500 miles. We'll go to work tomorrow and Saturday…make some adjustment and try to dial it in for the big race on Sunday."

KASEY KAHNE (No. 9 Budweiser Dodge Charger) Finished 7th

"It drove OK, but the car was pushing. I got a little damage in that last wreck, but that's no problem. The next two days, we'll have to get the car to run better. We have to figure out how to make the engine run better. The car is OK when I've got a car in front and one behind me. I didn't get a lot of drafting help today, so we have some work to do. "

SAM HORNISH JR. (No. 77 Mobil 1 Dodge Charger) Finished 16th

"Our car was OK. We started too tight at the beginning of the race, but made some good adjustments…went for two tires there at the end… and then just kind of got stuck there in the middle. I should have been able to get down in front of the 24…I wasn't sure if I was still clear on him and didn't want to cause a big wreck on the restart. It's only Thursday."

WHEN YOU'RE OUT RACING IN THE DUELS, ARE YOUR AWARE OF THE GUYS TRYING TO RACE THEIR WAY INTO THE 500? "Yeah, but I don't think that there was one person out there driving a lot worse than everybody else. Everybody is trying to get what they can get. Unless you start first or second, the better you start (in the Daytona 500), the better opportunity it is to stay out of trouble and stay up front."

IS YOUR CAR FIXABLE (AFTER AN ON-TRACK SPIN AND CONTACT)? "I don't know. We were pretty similar with both (primary and backup) of our cars last year…everything comes out similar. Hopefully, we'll be able to run this one (primary car), but if not, we'll be able to go back to the other one (secondary car) and it will be pretty close."
