Toyota made its NASCAR Nextel Cup Series debut today. Four Toyota Camrys took the green flag in today's 49th Daytona 500 -- Dave Blaney (No. 22), Dale Jarrett (No. 44), David Reutimann (No. 00) and Michael Waltrip (No. 55). Toyota drivers Dale Jarrett (1993, 1996 and 200) and Michael Waltrip (2001 and 2003) have combined for five Daytona 500 victories. The four Toyota drivers in the Daytona 500 field have now combined for 1,554 career NASCAR Nextel Cup Series starts. Michael Waltrip (676 starts), Dale Jarrett (640 starts) and Dave Blaney (236 starts) have made the majority of the starts, while David Reutimann made his second career NNCS start today.

David Reutimann became the only driver to start the first race for Toyota in all three of NASCAR's premier series when he took the green flag in today's Daytona 500. Yesterday, Reutimann competed in Toyota's first Busch Series race and in 2004 he participated in Toyota's first NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start. Reutimann is from Zephyrhills, Fla.

Toyota earned its first-ever win at Daytona in Friday night's NCTS event when Jack Sprague edged past Johnny Benson and Travis Kvapil to cross the finish line first. Dave Blaney crossed the finish line second in his Braun Racing Toyota in yesterday's Busch Series opener. Toyota made its debut in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series at the beginning of the 2004 season. In 76 NCTS starts, Toyota Tundra drivers have recorded 26 wins and 33 poles.
