Dodge drivers Sam Hornish, Jr., Dario Franchitti and Patrick Carpentier are all 2008 Raybestos Rookie of the Year Contenders.

SAM HORNISH, JR. (No. 77 Mobil 1 Dodge Charger)

WHAT WERE YOU ABLE TO LEARN IN PRACTICE? "I was pretty happy with the amount of time that we got out there. I was pretty surprised that I didn't get shuffled to the back. I was really happy with the way the Mobil 1 Dodge handled. We made small changes on it to try and make it a little bit better over the long run and in the pack, but we brought a car back that we knew was going to be a little bit slower in qualifying but a little bit better for us in the race, but we'll see what we can do."

WERE YOU ABLE TO LEARN ANYTHING IN THE DRAFT? "I've been fortunate enough to have run the IROC races against a lot of the (Sprint) Cup guys and I learned a bit from them, and also ran the Busch race last year, so I feel there is a lot I still have to learn but I have a little bit more experience than some of the other rookies."

HOW MUCH IS THE DRAFT DIFFERENT IN THIS KIND OF CAR? "The amount that the cars pull up and move forward is a lot different but I really enjoy it. It's something new. I always felt like I had a pretty good idea of it in Indy car and what that took to win. I hope that I'll be able to learn as quickly over here."

WHAT EFFECT IS THE RAIN GOING TO HAVE ON YOUR PREPERATION? "I guess it's the same for everybody. The big preparation for us is to go out and run the (Gatorade) Duels tomorrow.

DARIO FRANCHITTI (No. 40 Dodge Journey Dodge Charger)

WHAT WERE YOU ABLE TO LEARN TODAY IN PRACTICE? "I learned how much the car slides around really. That was the first thing. Getting used to what the draft does which is pretty impressive and just getting some more experience."

HOW MUCH IS THE DRAFT GOING TO EFFECT HOW YOU RUN IN THE DUELS? "The draft is everything at Daytona. How you get your car working in the draft and how you handle it. I'm pretty inexperienced with it and I'm on a learning curve."

PATRICK CARPENTIER (No. 10 Valvoline Dodge Charger)

WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED FROM PRACTICE: "Oh, a lot. I feel so fortunate. Elliott (Sadler) was on top of the roof there and gave me a bunch of tricks on drafting, side drafting and a lot of stuff. We took a lot of what he has in his car. I always like what he's got in his car. It made the car a lot better again. It was a mix of setups between mine and his and the team. It was a good day today. They are doing everything they can to help me with the race for tomorrow. I wish Elliott would be in my race too, but we'll see how it goes. I think the car is a lot better. We were blistering a tire there at the end, so we have to be careful of that but it was good."

HOW MUCH FUN ARE YOU HAVING IN THE DRAFT? "It's fun. It's a lot of fun, but you've got to stay focused and as they say play the game. It's very hard to time it right when you slow down and separate from the draft so you don't lose it. With these cars when you are the last one at the back of the pack often you are just going to lose the pack. Nobody wants to be there so it's going to be interesting."

KASEY KAHNE (No. 9 Budweiser Dodge Charger)

ON PRACTICE: "It's been alright. We're working on getting the car to turn better. We'll keep working on that. We're just trying to get it to turn and keep the momentum up."

HOW IS YOUR STARTING POSITION GOING TO EFFECT HOW YOU RUN THE DUELS? "It's a matter of where you're at, at the right time, especially during that last lap. You want to make sure that you're still out there and still running to get in the right spot with the right cars behind you. It's tough to do so you've got to figure out how to get our car fast enough so people will want to follow us."

HOW IMPORTANT IS IT TO HELP THE NO. 10 CAR GET INTO THE DAYTONA 500? "It's a big deal for Gillett Evernham to get all three cars in there. So yeah, it's something we have to look at. He is in my race so I'll make sure that I can help him when I can to make sure he gets in. We want all of us in there on Sunday. The 50th running is going to be pretty special so we want to all be in there and have a good shot."

REED SORENSON (No. 41 Target Dodge Charger)

ON PRACTICE: "It's a little bit slicker than it was in the Bud Shootout. It's a little bit hotter. It's going to be wild tomorrow. I think our car is pretty good. It's pretty decent. We tried a couple different things and got it turning a little bit better. It's a little bit tight and a little bit loose."

RYAN NEWMAN (No. 12 Alltel Dodge Charger)

ON PRACTICE: "The car is okay. We are just trying to work and get the balance perfect. I feel like we are pretty good speed-wise. The Alltel Dodge is very competitive and we drove from the back to the front in the first part of practice there and it felt really good."
