NOTES OF INTEREST: Sterling Marlin is the defending champion of the TranSouth Financial 400 at Darlington Raceway. Jeff Gordon holds the NASCAR Winston Cup qualifying record of 170.833 mph set in March, 1995 at DR. Dale Earnhardt set the 400-Mile race record of 132.432 mph in March, 1994 at DR.
