"These next three races -- Darlington, Bristol and Texas -- are my favorite tracks. I finished second in Darlington last year and if we can just move up one spot we should make some heads turn. I think right now we have some pretty good momentum going -- we haven't missed the setup yet so far this year and have had top-10 cars each week.

"I remember in 1996 when I was racing in the Busch Series. We were at a test session in Darlington and there were some Winston Cup drives there. I asked Dale Jarrett for some advice about the track and he said 'Instead of talking to you about it, why don't I just drive you around the track?' and the two of us got in a car and he basically walked me through it. I will never forget that, and that is another reason why a track like Darlington is special to me."

"This weekend at Darlington we are going to rely on some of the good experience the No. 88 team has had at the track. Believe it or not, Darlington is real close to Rockingham as far as shocks and springs go, and we had a good test there so it should be a good weekend for us. Darlington is a driver's racetrack -- Elliott is going to have to have a good enough car to where he can keep it off of the wall."

View from above the track with Spotter Brett Griffin:

"Darlington is a challenging track to spot. The cars run up against the wall all day long and there's usually a lot of beating and banging. Sometimes it's with other cars and sometimes it's with the outside retaining wall. There is no such thing as a spotter's stand with a perfect view of the race track. As the cars exit turn four at Darlington it's a big challenge to be able to clear the drivers. That's our 'trouble spot' for the weekend."
