STERLING MARLIN (No. 40 Coors Light Dodge Intrepid)
"When we first started this morning we were terrible. We got pretty good in practice and then went to race runs. We never made a banzai run the last 30 minutes. We just threw some stuff at it here and the car really drove good. I'm really proud of the boys on the Coors Light Dodge team. They really worked hard and changed a lot of shocks and springs and sway bars this morning. Hopefully we can get some luck going here and get back in the winner's circle.

"We're a little different than we were here last year. The track has changed a little bit during the winter, but it's basically the same ol' Darlington."

KENNY WALLACE (No. 23 Stacker2 Dodge Intrepid)
"I knew it was going to be close. It was a good run. It probably would have been a lot better if I hadn't hit the wall. I tried hard enough, that's for sure."

BILL ELLIOTT (No. 9 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Intrepid)
"I guess I must have forgotten how to get around this track. We just haven't been running that well since we've been here."

CASEY MEARS (No. 41 Target Dodge Intrepid)
"We picked up a lot. We ran pretty good here in testing. We ran decent this morning, and then we messed up the car in practice. We went back to the baseline, and the guys did a great job. We had a good run."

JAMIE McMURRAY (No. 42 Havoline Dodge Intrepid)
"That's better than we ran in practice. I feel like I overdrove all morning, and just then I felt like I underdrove. I felt like I just wasn't close enough to the wall. We've picked up everywhere we went, and it's really good to know we can pick up. It's that fine line of wrecking or being fast. I guess I was a little conservative, but that's OK. The car hasn't felt that good all day, and I just didn't drive it hard enough."

RUSTY WALLACE (No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge Intrepid)
"That was a good, solid run. I could have worked harder on my qualifying stuff, but I chose to do both, qualifying and race. I was a little loose in three and four, but turns one and two were really good. We're not on the pole, but we split time in practice concerned about rain tomorrow. I did two qualifying attempts early and then we did some race runs and back to qualifying. There was a lot of work going on today, and all in all it was a solid run."

KEN SCHRADER (1-800 CallATT Dodge Intrepid)
"That was a pretty good lap. We ended up in the top 15, so that's not too shabby. We'll take it and hope we can get some practice Saturday so we can get the car ready to race on Sunday."

RYAN NEWMAN (No. 12 ALLTEL Dodge Intrepid)
"I just messed up the first lap getting into one and two and didn't get the lap I wanted. It was really my fault. We've got a car that was capable of winning the pole. Elliott Sadler laid down a good lap. We'll just see what the ALLTEL Dodge can do in race trim. The track got a little faster, that's about it. I didn't adapt the way I should have."

JIMMY SPENCER (No. 7 Sirius Satellite Radio Dodge Intrepid)
"We weren't that good in practice, but we weren't that bad. We only made three runs and we were tight, but we made some adjustments. It's confidence with the crew and the crew's confidence with the driver. Tommy has a lot of experience with the Dodge, and he's getting a better understanding of what I like. He knows what I'm talking about when I tell him something. Turns one and two were awesome, but three and four it still got tight. We fought that all day. You've got to have two good corners to have a good lap here. The Sirius boys have been working hard. This is the car we had at Rockingham, and we're saving the car from last week. We've got a new car for Bristol. I'm so excited that we stayed in the top five. Two top five qualifying runs in a row, Atlanta and here, that's pretty cool. I can't say enough for my guys. We just keep getting stronger each week."

JEREMY MAYFIELD (No. 19 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Intrepid)
"I can't say enough about these guys on the Evernham Motorsports team. We made some changes on the car and it showed up on the race track. It made the car faster, and that's what it's all about."

WARD BURTON (No. 22 Caterpillar Dodge Intrepid)
"That was a pretty good lap. We picked up more than three tenths from practice, but I suppose the track got a little faster, too. Still, that's by far the best we've qualified all season, and I really like running at Darlington. Maybe we can get a break or two, stay out of trouble and have a really good run here Sunday."
