Blown Engine Ends Day of the #00 Domino's Pizza Toyota
Darlington, SC -- David Reutimann, driver of the #00 Domino's Pizza Toyota in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series, finished 33rd today in the Dodge Avenger 500 from Darlington Raceway .
The #00 Domino's Pizza Toyota rolled off 14th today, and the team hoped that another good start would bring a change of fortune, but an untimely caution and blown engine dashed any hope of a decent finish for the Domino's Pizza team.
"It just seems like I have no luck right now -- all we need is a few decent finishes, but bad luck always strikes," said David.
The #00 Domino's Pizza Toyota was extremely loose for a majority of the race -- which made David a busy driver, trying to prevent the #00 Domino's Pizza Toyota from hitting the wall. "We qualify well but when the race starts the car will just not turn or wants to snap around. Today it was both -- when the race started it was cloudy and the car was tight -- then the sun came out and I could barley hold on it was so loose," said Reutimann.
Then with only eight laps remaining the engine in the #00 Domino's Pizza Toyota expired, relegating the team to a 33rd place finish.
"Yea, its very disappointing -- a 33rd place finish does not help us much in the points. We'll keep at it and continue to make progress -- we will get there," said David.
