Danica Patrick's primary sponsor for 2016 revealed
Nature's Bakery will appear on Danica Patrick's No. 10 Stewart-Haas Racing Chevrolet in 28 races next year.
Based in Reno, Nevada, Nature’s Bakery will sponsor Patrick for 28 races next season — the first of a multi-year deal.
“This is a pretty special moment for us,” said Nature’s Bakery founder Dave Marson. “What a genuinely authentic person to represent our brand.”
In conjunction with the sponsorship announcement, team owner Tony Stewart said Patrick will continue her effort with SHR as well.
“Very excited to have Danica on board for the future,” Stewart said. “This is a great time in our sport and to bring a new partner on board makes us real proud…this is not a short-term deal by any means.”
Patrick, 33, is currently 21st in the Sprint Cup point standings in the No. 10 Chevy. Her performance continues to improve in her third season on the tour under the direction of crew chief Daniel Knost — who SHR aligned Patrick starting with Texas Motor Speedway with three races remaining in 2014.
This year Patrick’s picked up the pace particularly on short tracks this season where she scored
career-best top 10 finishes earned at both Martinsville Speedway (seventh) and Bristol Motor Speedway (ninth).
“Our brands align so perfectly,” Patrick said. “Being able to re-sign with Tony at Stewart-Haas is very important to me. I knew this is where I wanted to be. This is a real good place for me to be as a driver.”
In 105 Cup starts, has six top-ten finishes with a career-high sixth-place run at Atlanta Motor Speedway accounting for her top result. As a rookie, Patrick became the first woman to win a pole — in the 2013 Daytona 500.
Among her fellow former female Cup competitors, Patrick surpassed records set by Janet Guthrie for starts (33) and top-10 finishes (five).
