Danica Patrick comes under fire after crash

Danica Patrick's good day at Pocono went south real fast when she blew a tire and hit the wall early in the going.

Danica Patrick was running strong a Pocono before making contact with the outside wall on the 18th lap. With fender damage and a tire rub, she limped the car back around the track and planned to pit at the request of the team.

Going through the tunnel turn however, the tire blew and she pounded the SAFER Barrier, causing major damage to her No. 10 Chevrolet SS. Danica ended up finishing 30th, four laps down. Following the wreck, she was criticized for failing to slow down after the tire rub became apparent.

Those criticizing Danica say that if she had slowed down, she would have avoided damaging the car and could have possibly rebounded to a solid finish just as Jimmie Johnson (who also had a tire issue) did before another sudden tire failure sent him to the garage later on.

Below are some tweets from people reacting to the incident.
