Kevin Hamlin has lead the GM Goodwrench Service Plus team for 60 races since swapping positions with Larry McReynolds in June of 1998. In that time the Hamlin led crew has complied a record of four wins, 13 top-fives and 34 top-10's and they have won on superspeedways, intermediate and short tracks.

The GM Goodwrench Service Plus team in their three appearances at Texas Motor Speedway have finished in the top-10 in two of the three races. The only time they didn't finish in the top-10 was when they were a victim of a first lap incident causing extensive damage to their Chevrolet Monte Carlo.

Texas Motor Speedway is looking good to Dale Earnhardt and the GM Goodwrench crew. The Texas track is very similar to its sister track the Atlanta Motor Speedway where Earnhardt drove to an .01 second victory less than three weeks ago earning him his 75th NASCAR victory. quotes

"It's enjoyable coming to places like Texas. We're still a new sport to the area and each year we come back it gets a bigger response than the year before," stated Dale Earnhardt. "NASCAR is growing and it's good to see the support and enthusiasm from the fans here in Texas."

"We've started off the season pretty good," remarked Richard Childress. "The last couple of races have been on tracks where Dale has set some pretty impressive numbers. We're going to Texas where we haven't had as much luck. I have a feeling that things are going to be different this time back."
