Earnhardt proposes to Amy Reimann during his trip in Germany.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. wasn’t simply looking into his family tree on this week’s trip to Germany — he intended on expanding it.
Earnhardt proposed to his long-time girlfriend Amy Reimann today during the first leg of the couple’s trip to NASCAR’s Most Popular Driver’s homeland. On Wednesday, Earnhardt tweeted he was off to visit the church that his "family attended 7 generations and 300 years ago."
Reimann, 31, graduated from the University of Kentucky. She was working as an interior designer when she met Earnhardt in 2010. Earnhardt brought Reimann to the NASCAR Sprint Cup banquet the following year.
Earnhardt was joined by his sister Kelley Earnhardt Miller and her husband L.W. Miller on the journey to Germany. Earnhardt-Miller added a congratulatory tweet:
Earnhardt, 40, drives the No. 88 Hendrick Motorsports Chevy. He is currently fourth in the Sprint Cup point standings. He has 24 wins, 13 poles, 135 top fives and 233 top 10 finishes in 16 seasons on the Cup tour.
