HOME DEPOT RACING Stewart and Kenseth 'Crank It Up' at Joliet Home Depot

JOLIET, Ill., (July 11, 2003) - Reigning NASCAR Winston Cup Series champion Tony Stewart and current Winston Cup point leader Matt Kenseth joined each other for an autograph session Thursday night at The Home Depot on Plainfield Road in Joliet to kick-off an in-store promotion co-promoted by The Home Depot and DEWALT.

Over 700 fans received autographs from the two drivers as they helped launch "Crank It Up" - a sweepstakes aimed at generating consumer interest in The Home Depot and DEWALT through their respective NASCAR team sponsorships. Stewart drives the #20 Home Depot Chevrolet for Joe Gibbs Racing, and Kenseth drives the #17 DEWALT Ford for Roush Racing.

Fans can register for the "Crank It Up" sweepstakes - which includes a $500 voucher toward the Richard Petty Driving Experience, a DEWALT radio charger, a $50 Home Depot gift certificate or a pair of Carhartt gloves - by visiting their nearest Home Depot or by logging on to www.DEWALT.com/crankitup. Entries for the contest will be accepted until Aug. 31, 2003, with over 7,000 prizes set to be awarded.

"This is an excellent partnership between our two brands," said Hugh Miskel, director of sales promotion for The Home Depot. "DEWALT and Home Depot may race each other on the track, but our sponsorships compliment one another in the marketplace. The 'Crank It Up' sweepstakes brings that point home to consumers."

"Our 'Crank It Up' partnership builds excitement around the #17 DEWALT and #20 Home Depot racing programs," said John Cunningham, director of DEWALT event marketing. "It's a natural fit - race fans have a chance to meet Matt and Tony, two of the best drivers in NASCAR, plus they can enter to win some great prizes."
