Riggs Scores Top-20 Chicago Finish, Inches Closer to Top-35

JOLIET, Ill. -- Scott Riggs raced his way to a 20th-place finish in the LifeLock 400 at Chicagoland Speedway Saturday night, and in the process positioned his team just outside the Top-35 in owner points.

Riggs and the Haas Automation Chevrolet secured a starting spot in the race when qualifying was washed out by rain and the field was set according to owner points.

Riggs began the race in the 36th starting position and the team used a series of two-tire pit stops that not only helped gain track position, but also improved the handling of Riggs' car.

"I'm very happy to come away with a Top-20 finish tonight," Riggs said. "The car was decent at the beginning of the race then started to loosen up on entry and exit. The guys worked hard adjusting on the car in the pits, and we seemed to be clicking pretty well on two tires," Riggs said. "Unfortunately we weren't able to crack back into the Top-35, but we are on the doorstep. Now we have some confidence and momentum heading into Indy and hopefully that will translate into another good points race for us."

Following a weekend off the No. 66 team will head to the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard.
