Chevy stage collapses ahead of Jeff Gordon appearance in Kansas

Some inclement weather took on the Chevy stage ... And won.

There was a bizarre scene in Kansas today. The Chevy stage, which is present at NASCAR races, has collapsed due to severe winds in the area. The damage can be seen in the photo above, taken by MRN's Alex Hayden. Another image...

Fortunately, there were no serious injuries reported. The stage collapsed ahead of a planned visit from NASCAR superstar and last week's race winner Jeff Gordon. Obviously, that appearance has been cancelled.

It's a cold and rainy day in Kansas City, which has messed with both NASCAR and ARCA's schedule. Weather reports suggest that winds are at 20 to 25mph, and gusting up to 40mph.
