SCHRADER'S THOUGHTS HEADING INTO THE COCA-COLA 600: * "We just keep learning new things and trying different things," said Schrader. "Last weekend in the Winston Open we were slightly off, but we talked after the race and we think we can fix the problem. We're moving in the right direction...forward." CREW CHIEF SHOP TALK: * "We're returning to Charlotte with the same chassis we ran last year at Charlotte," said Sam Johns. "We hung a new body on it and it's good to go. We went back to the shop this week and changed a few things that will free the car up in the turns, since we ran tight for most of last weekend's race. We had a problem with the car bottoming out on the race track, so we have fixed that for the Coca-Cola 600."

SKOAL RACING TEAM NEWS: * Andy Petree, car owner of the No. 33 Skoal Racing team, will receive an honorary degree from the Nashville Auto Diesel College during driver introductions for the Coca-Cola 600 on Sunday, May 30. It is the first time anyone has received such an honor in the 88 year history of the college. Petree earned a 98% average in the automotive phase, but left before completing the diesel portion to join the NASCAR Winston Cup series.

* Schrader, along with Rusty Wallace and Bobby Labonte, was in Kansas City, Kan., on Tuesday, May 25, for the groundbreaking ceremony at the new race track being built by International Speedway Corporation.

* Schrader will pull double duty this weekend at Lowe's Motor Speedway. He will compete in Saturday's Busch Series event in the No. 15 Oakwood Homes Monte Carlo in addition to his duties in the Skoal Racing Monte Carlo. Schrader will have 31 hours of seat time at the conclusion of this weekend.

* Schrader will compete in the late model event at Wisconsin International Raceway in Kaukauna, Wis., on Memorial Day.
