JERRY NADEAU, NO. 10 EAGLE ONE PONTIAC GRAND PRIX:
"James [Ince] and the guys on this team, they did a super job today. We made a little adjustment there right before qualifying -- the car was a little bit tight - and the car was hooked up. Our draw hurt us, but I'm pretty happy for these guys. Johnny [Benson] has got to be pretty excited to get back in this thing.
"These guys do such a good job. It's too bad I'm only in here for three weeks. But, I'm happy just to be helping out Johnny. The car is running great. We made a huge gain in the last week because of my driving style compared to Johnny's. The guys just got it absolutely perfect.
WITH PRACTICE DURING THE DAY AND QUALIFYING IN THE EVENING, DOES IT LEAD TO A LOT OF GUESSWORK BEFORE QUALIFYING HERE? "Not really. This track does change quite a bit, but it's a driver's racetrack. You've got to drive hard."
KEN SCHRADER, NO. 36 PEDIGREE PONTIAC GRAND PRIX:
"We just kept tweaking with the car and got it a lot better. The Pedigree car was good in the 'Open' last week. We had a good run; we just didn't finish good. But, I like 400 laps here a lot better. I'm looking forward to this.
ON THE LENGTH OF THE THIS RACE "600 miles isn't anything to anybody here. We all look forward to it, but it's just time in the car. It's a fast racetrack. We've got other tracks where it takes us longer to run 500 miles. Everyone always looks forward to coming here."
STACY COMPTON, NO. 14 CONSECO PONTIAC GRAND PRIX:
"I'm happy with the progress the guys have made the last couple weeks with this Conseco Pontiac. We've struggled a little bit at times and we've been really good at times. This is the same car we had here last week and didn't drive good at all last week. This week we came back and that is a pretty good lap. I wish we would have run our second lap. But, we got through turns one and two so good and survived, so we elected to kill the second lap. But, that was a good lap for us. We picked up four-and-a-half or five tenths from practice. I wish we would have gotten a later draw, but I'm still pretty happy with that lap. That's what we needed to do."
TONY STEWART, NO. 20 HOME DEPOT PONTIAC GRAND PRIX:
YOU'VE GOT A GOOD STARTING SPOT AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO GIVE IT UP BECAUSE OF THE INDY 500... "That will be nice this year. We won't have to go through all the stuff we had to last year in trying to fight our way up. This year, in particular, everyone has their aero programs so good that the cars are getting real aero dependent, so the closer you start to the front the better off you're going to be. That's the kind of run we needed tonight and it puts us in a great position to start this race Sunday night."
