Charlotte II: Todd Bodine preview

Are you looking forward to racing Saturday night under the lights? "Absolutely. Any time we can run a race in prime time, under the lights and on network television, it draws a larger viewing audience. It's huge for our sport and for the fans.

Are you looking forward to racing Saturday night under the lights?

"Absolutely. Any time we can run a race in prime time, under the lights and on network television, it draws a larger viewing audience. It's huge for our sport and for the fans. Fans love night racing. It's something a little different, and the excitement seems to go up a notch. There's just something special about seeing our cars under the bright lights. It's even exciting for us too. I think we all are looking forward to starting a new tradition by racing this event on Saturday night."

You practice during the day but actually qualify and race at night. Does that create a challenge when setting up the car?

"I think it was an issue a few years ago when it was a relatively new practice. Now, we are all used to it. We know what to expect. We know we need to start out with a neutral car. The later the race gets, the more grip the track builds up. Lot's of grip is good and if we can keep the car neutral with a good balance throughout the race, we should be in for another good run. I absolutely love coming here."

Do you have a legitimate shot at the pole?

"I really feel good about our chances. We are bringing a relatively new car for us. When we took it to the wind tunnel several days ago, it recorded pretty stout numbers. I will be disappointed if we don't sit on the front row for this race."
