Concord, N.C. - Greg Biffle's crew chief spent Friday night at a local hospital due to chest pains. Doug Richert went to the infield medical center yesterday at the Charlotte Lowe's Motor Speedway with a Roush Racing team member.

The team's spokesman said Richert will be back at the track today in time for tonight's UAW-GM Quality 500 race. Richert became Biffle's crew chief in August of this year, he had previously worked on Carl Edwards NASCAR Craftsman Truck for Roush Racing.

Richert will not shoulder the responsibility in tonight's race, Mike Hillman Jr. (Biffle's car chief) and Ford Racing's Robin Pemberton will continue to help the team as they did yesterday.

Dr. Jerry Petty, Charlotte's medical doctor, stated, "The hospital will keep Doug (Richert) overnight for precautionary reasons, however, he is doing just fine and should return tomorrow."
