SCOTT RIGGS (No. 10 Stanley Tools/Valvoline Dodge Charger) -- pole winner

"We knew we had a good car, and we got a good draw going out late. We won the pole in the 600, and I feel like I cost them a pole at Dover. Coming back here we wanted to get back on our streak of qualifying well and finishing well. We put it right back where it was. Kasey and Elliott did a good job, also, but if anybody can beat that they can have it.

"I knew the cooler it was the better it was going to be. The track didn't seem to have a lot of dew on it. My hat's off to my guys. We brought the same car back and made sure everything was the same. We got a little different color with Stanley on board. I'm proud of everybody at Evernham Motorsports who put the team together this year. The car felt great.

"We've been struggling the last couple of weeks. We had tires blow out three weeks in a row. We wanted to come back here and get on track. I was almost more nervous this time because I knew we had a car capable of doing it. I put more pressure on myself. Hat's off to everybody for doing such a good job. We were good here in the 600, but the race just got away from us. We wanted to start this race off with a good qualifying effort. We want to win. We'd give the pole away if we could be in victory lane.

"I knew I had a shot at the pole. For us to be able to pull it off, it just makes it more rewarding. It's a lot faster than it was in May with the cooler temperatures and the different left-side tires we have here. I think the first race here we knew we had a good car. We were hoping we could get on the pole. As good as the car felt in practice today, we felt it should be capable of winning the pole, especially with the draw going out so late. I put a lot of pressure on myself to make sure I didn't make a mistake. The car did exactly what I wanted it to do and it was an awesome feeling lap, but I'd definitely trade this pole for a win. We want to have one night where we don't make mistakes, and we think we can get to the front and win."
