"I'm so happy that my primary Craftsman Truck Series sponsor is going to be on the car," said Reutimann. "NTN aligned with Toyota to give me my first opportunity in one of NASCAR's top divisionsand that's pretty special to me. It's important to us because this is the first time NTN has had presence on a Cup car. I'm thankful to have them with us because they are one of the reasons I have an opportunity to race at this level."
"NTN is extremely happy to support David Reutimann's initial attempt at Nextel Cup," said Rick Thomas, President and C.O.O. of NTN Bearing Corporation of America. "We are very confident in his skills and we couldn't be more pleased with his qualifying effort. We feel certain that one day David will have a career in Nextel Cup. NTN is thrilled to support his endeavors."J Out of 49 carsattempting to qualifyfor Saturday night's race, Reutimann qualified 26th last night securing a spot in the 334-lap event.J "I'm in the show," said Reutimann. "I was really nervous about that because we had to get in on time and I had no points. We qualified well and ended up right around the middle. We qualified ahead of some pretty big hitters that have way more experience and that means a lot to me. Our goal now is to concentrate on being good for the race and bringing home a good finish."
Reutimann's Lowe's Motor Speedway r0x00e9sum0x00e9' includes two NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series events. His best finish is 17th occurring last May.J "We should have come away with solid finishes in both events, but we had some problems," said Reutimann, who is ninth in the NCTS points standings. "In my very first truck race at Lowe's, we were running fifth and had an engine problem. During last May's race, we were involved in an accident early on, which caused substantial damage to the truck. Hopefully, I can have better luck this time in the 00 State Fair Corn Dogs car."
Live coverage of the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series event at Lowe's Motor Speedway on October 15th begins at 7:05 p.m. Eastern on NBC. PRN will broadcast the event.
