KASEY KAHNE:

"It's great going back to Lowe's as the defending Bank of America 500 champion. Sweeping both races there last year was a great accomplishment by the No. 9 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge team. Last year, we had a very successful season. This year, we've had our challenges, but I think we're finally getting the handling issues under control. I'm really looking forward to the race Saturday night. It would be good to get a win with the Dodge Charger before we move on to the Avenger for all the races next year.

"I was involved in an accident early in the first race (Coca-Cola 600) this year. I've had good luck and bad luck at Lowe's, led a lot of laps and had a chance to win on several occasions. We're ready for a win."

QUICK FACTS

* The No. 9 will be featuring a special Mopar-blue paint scheme for this weekend's race at Lowe's Motor Speedway.

* In the Bank of America 500 last fall Kahne qualified second and led 134 laps en route to his second career victory at Charlotte.

* Kahne swept both the spring and fall races at Lowe's in 2006.

* His average start at the "Beast of the Southeast" is 12.4.

* Kahne has qualified in the top-10 in all but three career starts at the 1.5-mile quad-oval.

* Kahne is in his fourth season with Gillett Evernham Motorsports. He posted a series-high six wins last year and earned a berth in the Chase for the Nextel Cup.
