ELLIOTT SADLER - No. 38 M&M's Taurus (Finished 43rd)
"We had another fast race car and that's couple of weeks in a row. Luck is not bouncing our way. M&M's and the Mars family is here this weekend to see us. The videotape shows I didn't ever touch him. I tried to drive under him, but I think it was just a little bit too early in the race to be racing that hard and be blocking that much. I know everybody has their own way of racing, but I feel sorry for everybody at the shop. A lot of hard work went into this car and we definitely had a top-five car. It just wasn't meant to be. I can't wait for this bad luck to end. I'm looking forward to finishing a race."
YOU'RE OK? "Yeah, I'm OK. They asked me if my neck was OK and I said, 'Yeah, it's getting pretty used to this,' so my neck is alright."
WHAT HAPPENED IN THE FIRST WRECK? "The 01 looked like he was gonna let me go on the inside and all of a sudden he just hung a left in front of me. I locked the brakes up and hit him and then spun myself out, too. He was a lap down. I wish these guys would be a little more considerate, but some guys you can't race too close. All in all it's my fault. I know who those guys are and I didn't give enough room."
MARK MARTIN - No. 6 Viagra Taurus (Finished 11th)
"As bad as we've been lately, that was a good run. We weren't even close to the leaders, but we had real solid pit stops by these guys. It was a real solid race for Ben on the pit box and a real solid race for me. The changes we made on the car - the calls he made and the calls I made - we had a successful race tonight, but we've got to get faster."
YOU SAID THE CAR FELT GOOD ALL NIGHT. "Yeah, it was perfect it just wouldn't run as fast as those guys so we've got to work on that. At least we ran a lot better than we have been. We were real solid in every way and if we can start doing that more often, then we'll be getting on the right track."
MATT KENSETH - No. 17 DEWALT Power Tools Taurus (Finished 8th)
"That was alright. We had a good car. We didn't have a good enough car to win it, but on real long runs we had a top five car at least. We drove to fifth the first run and then the cap came off the power-steering. We had to come in and fix that and lost all of our track position. From there it was an uphill battle, but we got the long green at the end we needed to pick up some positions and get a decent finish out of it."
YOU BEAT THE 8 AND THE 29. DOES THIS STOP THE BLEEDING A LITTLE BIT? "I don't know. I've been pretty relaxed all week. You're bound to have trouble. I mean, nobody is gonna have a perfect year and finish all the races without having anything break or making a mistake. The last two weeks we made some mistakes, but we put it behind us because that's already over. There's nothing you can do about the points we lost or the cars we crashed because it's already done. We just looked forward to this week and I'm real happy with where we finished. I feel like we're sort of back on track, but, on the other hand, I was looking forward to coming here because I actually thought we had a chance to win the race. We got ourselves behind and then I couldn't go on restarts and that hurt me."
YOU VOICED SOME DISPLEASURE WITH HARVICK OUT THERE. DO YOU THINK HE WAS JUST PLAYING GAMES WITH YOU? "Yeah, I wasn't really frustrated. It's just that he was holding up both of us. I understand what he's trying to do. He's just playing mind games and trying to get as close as he can to me to get the air off of me without hitting me. He was hoping I'd mess up or make a mistake or crash. I don't necessarily blame him for doing it, but he cost us both a lot of time. Both of us would have finished up farther if he hadn't done that because we could have gotten single file and made better time than messing around side by side for 20 laps."
RICKY RUDD - No. 21 Motorcraft Taurus (Finished 23rd)
"We were pitiful all day long until just about 85 percent of the way through the race. They made some adjustments and the car took off. It was one of the faster cars on the track, but we gave up all that time early. It would have been really frustrating if we had not been able to find something that made it run at the end."
TODD BODINE - No. 54 National Guard Taurus (Finished 29th)
"We were racing the 38 and all of a sudden the car broke loose. I absolutely hate it that Elliott got caught up in it. I know he's not too happy right now and I am sorry. Before the incident, we had a top five car. We were just a little tight getting off the corner. After the incident we were incredibly tight and it caused us to go a lap down. It's too bad. We had a great weekend going - a good qualifying effort, good practices and it's too bad it had to end like this."
GREG BIFFLE - No. 16 Grainger Taurus (Finished 17th)
"It wasn't a bad day, but I'm really disappointed we didn't run better than we did over here. I don't know what it is - why we're getting beat so bad. I really don't know. I don't know if it's aero or just handling. We're not getting the handle on the car or what, but it's pretty disappointing. I don't know. I guess I'm just frustrated."
PHYSICALLY, HOW DO YOU FEEL AFTER 800 MILES? "I feel OK. Physically, I'm good. I'm ready to go. That didn't bother me any. I'm just frustrated the car didn't go any better."
DOUG RICHERT, Crew Chief - No. 16 Grainger Taurus - YOU WENT TO THE HOSPITAL YESTERDAY AND SPENT THE NIGHT. WHAT WERE YOU FEELING WHEN YOU ARRIVED AT THE SPEEDWAY YESTERDAY? "I feel fine. There's nothing really wrong. I had some pressure in my chest and I don't know if it's from a virus or some kind of a chest cold. My mother and brother both passed away of massive heart attacks, so I don't feel like I should be playing around when I do feel something like that. Everybody here - the staff at the infield care center - felt like it was best to go have it checked out and everything was good. Everything came back A-OK as far as the treadmill and all the blood work, so I was happy about that. That made me feel better."
THE SCHEDULE IS OBVIOUSLY GRUELING. DO YOU THINK YOU JUST GOT RUN DOWN? "You always put pressure on yourself, but putting pressure on yourself and having a heart attack is sure not worth it. It's not worth it to me. We're out here to do the best that we can every week. Sometimes you get dealt hands you're not happy with, but you've just got to learn from them, build on it and figure out why you ran worse than you really thought."
