#00 Dominos.com Toyota Looking Solid -- Will Roll-Off 20th
Concord, NC -- David Reutimann, driver of the #00 Dominos.com Toyota in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series for Michael Waltrip Racing, qualified 20th tonight for Saturday night's Bank of America 500 from Lowe's Motor Speedway.
The #00 Dominos.com was 28th fastest in the first practice session, and the team was confident heading into qualifying of making the field for the Bank of America 500. Also, David Reutimann looked to rectify missing the race at Lowe's Motor Speedway earlier in the NASCAR season -- where the car broke loose on him during his lap. That's exactly what Reutimann did -- posting a solid speed good enough to start 20th on Saturday night at Lowe's Motor Speedway.
"It was an ok qualifying lap - I was looking for a little more. The #00 Dominos.com Toyota was tight in the corner and I believe it hurt us a bit, but I'm guessing the lap will put us starting around 25th, which is not bad. Now we have two practices tomorrow to get the #00 Dominos.com Toyota ready to race on Saturday night," said David of his lap during Bud Pole Qualifying.
Lowe's Motor Speedway is the home track for the NASCAR nation, and is the track that David Reutimann made his first NASCAR NEXTEL Cup start, meaning a solid finish here is special for every driver, including Reutimann. "I made my first start here, so it means a lot to come back and qualify well for the race tonight. We're shooting for a top-10 -- that would be awesome for the team and our sponsor, Domino's Pizza," said Reutimann.
